June 11 2023: As we reach our seventh birthday and having served thousands of amazing customers who have come to dine at Pasture, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that I have chosen to close the restaurant for personal reasons.
I informed the staff a few weeks ago that my partner is ill with first symptoms of a hereditary disease and we have had to seek specialist treatment. Our family of staff have been very supportive during this difficult time.
I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in making Pasture such a huge success. All the staff, suppliers, and guests past and present who have made it what it is. In fact, the beginning of this year was the busiest few months we have ever had, with people coming from all over the world, including England, Germany and New York.
All staff have been paid in full alongside support in securing new employment and we are in discussions with suppliers and our other stakeholders. We have been taking the last few weeks trying to find an alternative solution alongside the landlord. We will continue, as we have, to refund deposits on an ongoing basis, for all existing reservations. The same can be said of event tickets.
If you are in possession of a voucher or need assistance with a refund please don’t hesitate to get it touch with us to receive a refund by eat@pastureakl.com
I have been so proud to have created a high end six seat fine diner with a bar, a cafe, a bakery and a neo bistro run by one superb team, in one building. Further, I am grateful to New Zealand, my adopted home, for which I would not have ever had the opportunity to create such a special restaurant.
I ask that our privacy is respected at this time
Ed Verner (chef/owner)

Guests are seated at our chef’s counter, where we serve one tasting menu curated for the season. We offer drinks pairings and have a concise list of local wines by the bottle.
We host three sittings per night - 5:15pm, 7pm and 8:30pm Wednesday - Saturday. We are now taking bookings through to June 30th. 2023. The restaurant entry is via Boxer, our sister bar, on the street at 235 Parnell Road.
Our menu cannot accommodate dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, pescatarian, no egg, or no dairy. Nevertheless, our menus are often suitable for pescatarians, with some variations, depending on the season. Some allergies may be accommodated, but please check with us before booking as we may not be able to serve you a full menu.
